This review is going to be about a new program called The Affiliate Challenge. What is The Affiliate Challenge? Is it a scam? Or a legit opportunity for you to invest your time and money on? These are some of the questions that we will be focusing on in this review.
Alright without further ado, let’s get things rolling…
Name: The Affiliate Challenge
Owner: Andy Luong
Price: $1(30-day trial), $37/month(afterwards)
The Affiliate Challenge Overview
The Affiliate Challenge is a step-by-step coaching program that teaches one how to start an Affiliate Marketing business. First look at this program, I told myself “this is my kinda stuff…I do this every single day!”. Yeah, for those of you who don’t know anything about me, basically, I am a full-time Affiliate Marketer who makes money through promoting someone else’s products/services.
I have been doing this for just over a year and have never ever looked back once for making that giant leap from quitting my 9-5 job to going full swing online. Frankly speaking, I am proud of myself for making that BIG decision. All I can tell you is, people around me weren’t happy about what I was doing. Fast-forward 8 months, I was earning about double of what I earned at my day job.
I know some of you might start to wonder how on earth did I manage to be that successful in such a short space of time. Well, there is no push button or magic to success… Everything was solely through my hard work and dedication and not to forget most importantly Wealthy Affiliate.
Wealthy Affiliate is an online training platform that teaches how to build an online business from scratch. I will not go into too many details about WA now. I will explain more about it later on in this review but for now let’s get back on track.
How Much Does it Cost?
One good thing I liked about The Affiliate Challenge is that it has a 1 month trial period. In other words, you will only have to pay $1 to have access to the program for the next 30 days. After the trial, you will be rebilled with a new amount of $37. This is a monthly re-occurring payment. However, you would be able to cancel it at anytime you want.
The Trial membership is good because it enables one to have a “taste” of what the program really has to offer and whether it is something for you or not. Sometimes the sales video may make the program look awesome but when you really login into the members area and get hands on then only will you know whether it lives up to the expectation.
On a personal note, I am quite a bad impression on ClickBank products. Nothing really biased about, but almost all of their products sold there are nothing but hype. Their promotional video and sales page will look top class but once you spend the money and enter the backend things often look different.
I’m not new to ClickBank products. In the past, before I become an Affiliate Marketer, I have purchased a couple of making money online program that promised to help me make money online. Unfortunately, none of them worked. Their programs were full of upsells which they didn’t mention earlier on the sales page.
Thankfully I don’t need to buy any more products from ClickBank but for those who are consider buying, please do take what I said into consideration. I don’t want you to face similar outcome as me.
Anyway… not to forget, there is a 60-day money back guarantee. So you can make use of this opportunity and try out the program if you want.
The Affiliate Challenge – 7 steps to Success
The Affiliates Challenge program is built around 7 different steps. From my personal experience, I can tell you, I more or less agree with most of them. Most of the steps are important to building a successful online business but you can definitely be successful leaving out 1 or 2 of them.
I will do a quick walkthrough on each step and weigh its importance.
Step 1: You Need To Have The Right Mindset
Yes, I 100% agree to this. You definitely need to have the right mindset if you want to succeed in this online business. Affiliate Marketing is something that doesn’t give you instantaneous results. It will take awhile before you start gaining momentum. The initial stages which are your learning phase will be the hardest part of your journey in Affiliate Marketing.
Personally, I had difficulty understanding and knowing certain terms, phrases and how to go about doing this and that. This phase is temporary. Once you got your fundamentals right, things will start to look easier on your side and you will feel less pressurized.
From then onwards, it’s all about working on your business diligently and it’s only a matter of time before you start to see income coming in. For me, the first sale is always the most memorable part of the business. Working so hard and when you see you have made money when you least expected is an awesome feeling. Once the first sales come in, you will know that you are doing something right… so the next thing is to continue doing what you have been doing.

Step 2: You Need To Have The Right Niche
I don’t quite agree to how Andy Luong sees this step. Niche Selection is important but I don’t think you should base your niche on the profitability just yet. Instead, you should select a niche market that you are passionate about, something that really interests you and you have a decent amount of understanding and knowledge about it.
The reason why I said that is because it really helps you in the long run. Let’s say you are passionate about bodybuilding but instead you saw that the cat niche is quite lucrative so you decided to go with that instead. But you have no idea or whatsoever on how to work with the niche and start promoting products. This lack of understanding and idea here will be the one that will eventually tell you, “this online business is not suitable for me… I should just stick to my 9-5 job”.
My emphasis is that your first online business must be built around something you’re really like and don’t count time doing. If you are forcing yourself to do something you don’t like just for the sake of money, you are very likely to fail sooner rather than later my friend.

Step 3: You need to be promoting High Converting Products
I only agree with this statement to a certain extent only. I don’t think you should ONLY be promoting high converting products. A mixture of both is good if you ask me. High Converting products mean high competition. High Competition means you are going to compete with other people to market the product.
Low converting products don’t mean that it has NO conversion so I don’t see why you should totally ignore it.
To have a well balanced Affiliate Marketing business, you should promote all sort of products. Instead of focusing on the conversion, you should focus more on the quality and benefit of the product. If the product is very useful and helpful to help people in any way, they will surely buy the product.

Step 4: You Need To Build an Email List
Some say… the money is in the list. Is it true? Yes, it probably is but it doesn’t mean that without an email list you will not make any money. I have several sites that don’t have an email list but it is still pulling my consistent monthly income of hundreds to thousands of dollars.
Building an email list is definitely an asset for online marketers but provided you can do it right. Spamming your leads with useless and scam products just so that you can make money quickly, is a bad and unethical move. You are actually hurting your business in the long run. Your email subscriber will probably unsubscribe from you once he/she finds out what kind of person you are.
Importance Rating: 7/10
Step 5: You Need To Understand Traffic Generation
Yes… this is a VERY crucial step. Traffic is the core of your business. Without traffic(potential buyers) you will never make a dime online. You have to understand how it works and do it right in order to make sales.
There are several ways of getting traffic to your products you promote. Either through free traffic or paid traffic. I agree, free traffic takes a long time. But the advantage of free traffic is, it’s literally FREE and it’s more targeted and the chances of making sales are higher.
On the other hand, paid traffic means you buy traffic through advertising and etc. This form of traffic will require you to spend quite an amount of money and the downside is it still doesn’t guarantee you to make sales. You can spend $1000 on advertising and still go without making a dime. But if you target keywords and traffic properly, meaning you do it right you can see good results quickly.
Importance Rating: 10/10
Step 6: You Need To Master Email Marketing
Did Andy Luong run out of ideas to sell his product? I’m asking this because he is literally repeating step 4 again. Email marketing and building an email list is more or less the same. Building an email list is a subset of email marketing. He should have combined both these steps together instead of separating.
I don’t think email marketing is very advanced like what Andy claimed to be. It is simple to understand and with proper training and guidance you can get a good grasp of it in hours.
Importance Rating: 7/10
Step 7: You Need To Know How To Scale Your Campaigns
This is definitely an important step. To really grow your income to a higher level, you need to stop focusing on the deadwood and focus on those high converting pages.
This step is what separates a mediocre Internet Marketer from a skillful & determined one. That’s right… everybody can easily get products in front of people. But not everybody will use data and testing to see what works and what doesn’t. This can be the breakthrough for your income to right greater heights.

How is the Support?
Support is the second most important thing one should look at in a membership site apart from the training. Support can be the difference between you succeeding or not succeeding, particularly in Affiliate Marketing. Like I said earlier, the learning phase is going to take quite awhile and tons of questions will be running through your head during this period.
If you have no person to go to for help or nowhere to go to and find answers, you are going to have a really hard and frustrating time.
So what kind of support are you going to get here at The Affiliate Challenge? The first thing you will be getting is a complementary “coaching call” from Andy himself. Basically to discuss and help you get started with your online business. Is this a one-off thing? Probably it is. Obviously, you can’t be expecting Andy to spend most of his time answering your questions.
I don’t really see a benefit of the coaching call because it is probably an overview and maybe an idea generation discussion.
The second form of support you will be getting is through the private mastermind group. It might either be a small forum or Facebook group discussion page where people get together and ask questions. Again, I don’t think this is very effective and give you the support you would need in a snap of a finger.
Overall the support seems fairly average to me only.
My Final Thoughts
Is The Affiliate Challenge a scam?
Nope, I don’t think so… It definitely offers a good amount of information and decent support to help you get started in Affiliate Marketing. However, I don’t think the price justifies the overall program. To pay $37 per month, I should expect far more sophisticated training and support but I don’t see that here.
Furthermore, Andy Luong looks like a new kid on the block. I don’t really think he has a vast amount of experience in this industry. Judging by his previous products, he probably has a couple of years under his belt. Definitely not the most experience and go to person in my opinion.
The issue with ClickBank products is anybody can just create a product without any experience and list it for sale in ClickBank. That is the whole reason why you see tons of below par products that don’t offer anything in value. Their only intention is to quickly come out with a product, list them online and make money. This is a one-sided victory only. Only the owner benefits. Those who purchase the product are always on the losing end. Because of this sole reason I have given up on buying anything from ClickBank, Clicksure and etc…
Final Verdict: Legit, But Not Recommended
My #1 Recommendation?
Remember I shared with you glimpses about Wealthy Affiliate earlier in this review. Yes, that’s my #1 recommendation go-to program. It is the best online training platform you can ever find online. I’m not saying this just for the sake of saying… I really meant it.
There ‘s no other program that offers the same value as WA. There are tons of features there. A few I can list at the top of my head are, Live chat with fellow members and successful online entrepreneurs, Classroom to ask questions and learn from other people’s questions, private message owners and ask for personal help(anytime), weekly webinars from a top internet marketer, tons of training and many more…
The owners have a combined experience of over 26 years under their belt. Their input will definitely be important for your success. I know because it really helped me to achieve what I couldn’t have imagined.
I know I sound like am exaggerating a lot. But I’m not. Instead, why not you create your free starter account and have a taste of it for yourself. You don’t have to provide your credit card details at all to get started.
They also have a premium membership that provides you with a wider spectrum of features. However, you don’t have too worry to much about that. Just create the FREE account and see whether it is something that captures your attention.
Alright, I have come to the end of my review on The Affiliate Challenge. I hope by now you have a better understanding of what this program is all about and whether it is something for you or not. Please share with us your personal experience if you have tried this program yourself. Personal opinions and questions are always welcomed too.
Thanks for reading…
And I wish you success 🙂
